Red wine

Red wine is the only alcoholic drink that is considered to have health benefits, if drunk with limitations. A glass or two of red wine per day can help in improving your vital body functions. Red wine also helps in preventing brain disorders, heart disease, herpes, cancer, and also helps fight against colds.

How red wine prevent heart diseases

People in the Mediterranean have been found to have a lower rate of heart diseases although they have a high intake of saturated fats. This is because they drink lots of red wine. Red wine reduces stress and acts as a social lubricant as those drinking red wine are found to be more socially outgoing and less prone to fall into depression or social isolation.

Drink up to two glass a day

It proves to be very beneficial to have one or two glasses of red wine per day. With its inclusion in your diet, you are provided protection against neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. This is because the neural cells in the body tend to regenerate on exposure to the chemical resveratrol that is found in grapes, wine, peanuts and berries.

There are antioxidant in red wine too

The antioxidants found in red wine provide protection against colds. Having two glasses of wine everyday makes you suffer from lesser bouts of cold. It has been found out through research that the resveratrol in red wine provides a cure for herpes. It is because of this that red wine holds a cure for both cold sores type of herpes and genital herpes. Herpes is not fatal in adults; however, it is dangerous in pregnancy where the infant may suffer from blindness and other life threatening conditions.

Red wine has the chemical polyphenols that help decrease the production of endothelin in the walls of arteries. This is why red wine proves to be beneficial in providing protection from heart disease, hypertension and stress.

What? Red wine can cure cancer?

Red wine has also been found to provide cancer prevention. This is because of the presence of resveratrol that has anti-cancer properties. Resveratrol minimizes all the DNA mutations that generally lead to cancer. It also blocks all formation of new blood vessels that generally feed on tumors in the body. With this, it can inhibit the process of the growth and spreading of cancer.

Less is more

However, the benefits of red wine can only be felt with one or two glasses of wine. There is no point binging with red wine thinking that drinking more of red wine will give more health benefits. Remember, red wine is an alcoholic beverage; and thus a toxin. Binging on it once a week does not provide the same benefits as drinking one or two glasses everyday. So maintain an everyday habit of drinking one or two glasses of wine everyday, and you will get to enjoy life much better.
